Rorschach Responses in Normal Korean Adults

Abstract
Rorschach Test Studied to 60 normal Korean Males shows following results.
1. Average total response(R) is 14-17(16) and average reaction time(T/Ri) shows 17.80"-25.20"(21.50").
T/Ri in card IV, 11, 11, A and X show more prolongation than in the other cards.
2. Failure or Rejection is most frequently elicited in card ft and also comparatively not infrequently in card N , 11, 11 and Y.
Comparison of prolongation of T/Rl among cards makes it recognizable that Failure or Rejection can be more likely elicited in cards showing prolongation of T/RI.
3. Whole response(W)% : Normal detail response(D)% : Abnormal detail response(Dd)% in the normal Koreans is 50.9 : 40.9 : 6.6.
White space response(S) sums up 15 in all.cards of 60 cases, the average per each 10 cards is 0.25.
4. Form response(F) % shows 52.2.
5. Human movement(M) is 1.07.
Human movement(M) : Animal mcvement(FM) reveals 1 : 2 and Whole response(W) : Human movement(M) is 7.6 : 1.
6. Form color response(FC) : Color form response(CF) shows 4 : 1.
Chromatic response(FC+CF+C) : Achromatic response(Fc+c+C¢¥i) is 6 : 1.
As for Color naming response(Cn), all the 60 cases reveals only one. (~+ R + X) o shows 33.
7. In the study of Contents the followings are observed: Human response(H): Human detail response(Hd) is 3: 1 (H>Hd), Animal response(A) % 48.6, and Anatomy response(At) % 12.
8. Popular response(P) list of Koreans obtained by author is compared with those of other nations which have been reported by many investigators.
9. The general trends of normal Koreans projected in the Rorschach test are found common, at large, to that of normal Japanese in many ways.
In comparison with Americans, Koreans show: lowering of R, prolongation of T/RI, marked elevation cif W% in the apperception type, increase of F%, decrease of M, dominant FM in M : FM, remarkably dominant W in W : M, a little dominant FC in FC : CF+C, remarkably -dominant chromatic response in (FC+CF+C) : (Fc+c+C¢¥).
Some differences, however, of above mentioned items between Koreans and Japanese leave us further investigations and analysis in this subject.
